In-Depth Details: Green Crack Strain Profile

Green Crack has been gracing dispensary and coffee shop menus for almost 30 years now. It's one of the best representations of old-school sativa genetics that you can find, though its origins are a bit mysterious. As far as we know, the general consensus is that Green Crack is a cross between unknown bagseed and Skunk #1. It was originally named Cush (with a c) by the breeder, Cecil C out of Ohio and later renamed Green Crack by Snoop Dogg for its potently energizing sativa effects. However, others believe it was originally called Green Crack and then renamed Cush (or Green Cush) because the"crack" name perpetuates a negative image of cannabis. Either way, this sativa-dominant hybrid is 100% pure cannabis boasting 15-20% THC and energizing terpenes like Limonene and Myrcene.

Green Crack flowers are quite a feast for the eyes. The plants grow tall and lean with deep, dark green water leaves and long stalks that support enormous colas. Her flowers are lightly packed compared to many cannabis flowers, but that isn't meant to be seen as a bad thing. Each cola breaks into many smaller popcorn-like nugs that range in color from light green to yellow-green. Each one contrasts with extreme vibrancy when compared to their fiery orange pistils that twirl out through the bulk of the flower. Most important however is the presence of THC-rich trichomes, which give the flowers a gently frosted appearance and make for extremely potent sativa-effects and concentrates.

The most exciting factor of Green Crack flowers however is the way the strain smells and tastes. In a jar or bag, the flowers smell bright and citrus with a distinctly earthy funk on the nose. When you grind the flowers or crush them up, the citrus smell overpowers mostly everything else, leaving you with a lingering mango-scent in your nostrils. The flowers themselves are quite sticky and resinous, which makes for dense smoke clouds and tons of flavor when they're smoked. The flavor is a little different, though. While the citrusy fruit flavors are more forward on the nose, the earthy aromas take center stage in the flavor department. The first impression of Green Crack is a bright herbaceousness that mellows into a thick earthiness. The aftertaste is largely consistent of those mango-esque fruit flavors, though.

As you exhale your first puff and appreciate the flavors, the effects of the Green Crack strain take hold. It's a massively cerebral strain, promoting a ton of mental effects without slowing down the physical body the way some indicas and other hybrids do. The first impression is that of a huge burst of energy that stops feelings of sluggishness or lack of motivation in their tracks. Green Crack replaces fatigue with happiness-amplifying euphoria, bright cerebral energy, and an uplifting sensation that can chase even the most troublesome blues away. Many creatives, parents, and people with demanding jobs stick to Green Crack for its focusing and creativity-inspiring effects that lead to stress-free business handling, all-day energy, and around the clock symptom management. Just remember to keep sunglasses, water, and lip-balm on you, since there's a good chance it'll dry your eyes out and give you cottonmouth. One other thing to consider is that if you're a beginner with cannabis or you're sensitive to THC or just not partial to sativas, you may want to try a different strain. In the inexperienced or the THC-sensitive, Green Crack can cause a little anxiety or paranoia. It may also make it difficult to sleep.

Epic Remedy's Green Crack Strain Review

Green Crack is a strain I've smoked probably a thousand times. It's always available, it's at basically every dispensary, and it's usually pretty good. While everyone's Green Crack is a little different, I was still excited to try our own cut of it. I personally like the uppity sativas best, so why not. I got it as a mystery 1/8th in the last 1/2 ounce I bought from our North location and have been smoking on it for a while now. I'm only FINALLY getting around to reviewing it TODAY, but I digress.

Green Crack is just a spectacular strain. It promotes some serious mental energy, which is great for when it's big brain time, as it often is. I've been smoking it almost daily before I sit down to do artsy design work or when I'm doing some writing. It really just makes you feel sharp, focused, and creative. I tend to overthink creative aspects of my job, too. Truth is, I get a little nervous when it comes to design. I'm good at it, but I psych myself out sometimes before I even try to do what I need to do. Green Crack kinda turns that whine-bag in me off and allows me to just get things done without my own negativity and lack of motivation getting in the way.

It's also a super nice smoke after a workout. My routine is usually wake up, do a workout, eat a snicky snack, and then start working. The exercise I do is a little intense (because I'm extra at all possible times) so I often feel a little sore a couple of hours later. Sitting at a desk all day also leaves me pretty sore and uncomfortable in my low back, UNLESS OF COURSE, I smoke some Green Crack before I start with my work. Alongside the mental bliss, energy, and happy thoughts, Green Crack also helps reduce the pain in my sore muscles.

It satisfies my two biggest complaints in life: My own mental roadblocks, and my poor posture. It's like one of those things you just always have in your medicine cabinet next to the Aspirin and Pepto Bismol because it works well, feels good, and tastes pretty great.

Oh yeah, that's right - I forgot to talk about the FLAVOR! Green Crack is plain and simply delicious. It tastes a lot like it smells - earthy and herbalicious with lots of citrus and mango notes. The smoke is on the thick side and definitely makes me cough, but that just kicks in the effects all the more, so I'm not complaining. The aftertaste is mostly mango citrus and a unique earthy funk.

My favorite part is definitely the scent though. For me, a whiff of Green Crack is just as strong and energizing as a taking a sniff of some coffee beans. In the bag, it has a unique herbal musk, but the scents really come out to play when you grind it up. If you crumble the flowers, they smell just like Tang - y'know, that old orange drink mix with the orangutan? It has a sharp, sour citrus scent redolent of orange juice, mangos, and funk.

Basically, Green Crack is uppity. It's tart citrus flavors and energizing effects make it better at breakfast time than any glass of orange juice you can find. Most importantly, it helps manage a variety of THC-related symptoms when you can't afford to slow down or succumb to the couch-lock. Just keep in mind that the strain will make you feel a little wired - so it isn't the best choice for bedtime or trying to manage anxiety.
