In-Depth Details: Bobblehead Strain Profile
The Bobblehead (AKA Bobble Head) strain is a 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid cross between legendary strains Headband and Bubba Kush. It was first propagated by the heads over at The Bank, who are known for propagating over 50+ popular Colorado strains as they are part of The Clinic dispensary's family. The final result was an extremely terpene-heavy strain that checks in at a whopping 18-25% THC. This potency with high concentrations of therapeutic terpenes like Myrcene, b-Caryophyllene, and Limonene makes the Bobblehead strain one of the best cannabis options available for Colorado Springs medical patients.
Bobblehead plants are beautiful and massive. These high-yielders grow broad water leaves and many viney branches, typical of many indica strains. However, they tend to grow to enormous sizes; in some cases even past the lights. She grows huge colas that are more lightly packed than other Kush family strains, but more on the medium-side of the spectrum. With proper topping and training, these plants produce loads of insanely frosty top colas and yield up to 20 ounces per square meter. Each cola is made up of long, fluffy nugs that range in shades of dark and forest green with lighter hues and amber-orange pistils throughout.
Bobblehead also throws extremely fragrant flowers. Living terpenes are notably herbal with rich, dark, dank aromas throughout. That intensity is only amplified as the flowers dry, reducing some of those herbal notes and replacing them with pungent earth tones and lots and lots of skunkiness. Ground flowers release aggressively skunky terps in addition to an earthy sweetness and a subtle spice, similar to patchouli. As Bobblehead flowers burn, you'll notice more of the skunky aroma shining through in addition to dank woody notes. Overall, the strain is pretty loud at every stage.
The flavor profile is where Bobblehead really shines, though. Our cut is incredibly skunky and citrusy though some phenotypes are more fruity or more earthy and skunky. Since this strain comes from seed, there are a few different versions of it floating around so you may have a different experience from dispensary to dispensary. That said, we're impressed with ours. An inhale brings forth that herbal notes and a dank earthy pungent flavor, leaving behind a rich, spicy, and sweet smoke that is sure to make you cough. However, the exhale brings out a surprising amount of citrus notes that make the strain taste a lot more balanced. The ultimate impression is of pungent, skunky earth tones and lemon citrus.
As you breathe out your first exhale, you'll notice the Bobblehead strain effects kicking in. The effects start in the mind, filling you up with a deep sense of happiness and euphoria. This sudden rush of upbeat energy and positivity is a frequent cause of giggle-fits, which makes the strain a super popular choice for socializing. However, the effects ultimately settle in the body, causing a potent body high that creeps into each of your limbs and appendages, relaxing you deeply and fully until you are totally settled in. In higher doses, it isn't uncommon for Bobblehead to relax you so deeply it helps you drift off to dreamland.
These effects coupled with therapeutic terpenes like Myrcene, b-Caryophyllene, and Limonene and an above-average potency level between 18-25% THC make the Bobblehead strain a great choice for medical marijuana patients seeking relief from a variety of ills and ailments. Mentally speaking, many patients love this strain for its ability to melt away stress, PMS, and lingering symptoms of depression in addition to its ability to help you fall asleep even with insomnia. However, Bobblehead is more of a physical strain. It's great for both chronic pain and inflammation and many patients find it useful against muscle spasms, cramps, nausea, headaches, and even migraines.
Like most cannabis strains, Bobblehead may come with some side effects. In most cases, you can expect to experience dry eyes or cottonmouth. As a potent indica, Bobblehead may also cause couch-lock in higher doses. With that in mind, take care to remember that cannabis is an excellent medicine for managing chronic symptoms, but it isn't a cure-all. It's just a safe, effective alternative for the treatment and management of many chronic symptoms. For standard symptoms, Bobblehead is a great choice for medical patients in Colorado Springs seeking physical relief at any time of day. The strain's potency levels and above-average terpene content make it a popular choice among patients who visit our dispensaries here in Colorado Springs.
The Epic Remedy's Bobblehead Review
From the moment I laid eyes on our Bobblehead plants for the first time, I was smitten and more than eager to finally see the cured buds make their way onto the shelves. They've been circulating for a few weeks now, but being backed up on bud I already purchased, I had to wait a little bit to get my paws on some. I was finally able to cop a baggy this week after finishing the rest of my stash and I've been excited to review it since like last week.
Anyway, Bobblehead throws gorgeous buds through and through. Very stick and frosty, but on the fluffier side compared to some of the other buds I've reviewed lately. I was very impressed with the muted coloration and the darker pistils, but most importantly, the impressive frost on these flowers.
Taking the Bobblehead buds out of the bag was an absolute delight for the smell alone. Bobblehead smacks you in the face like no other, crinkling your nose with aggressively dank skunk and earth notes along with a sour and sweet citrus aroma. It's one of those strains where you go "PHEEEEEEW STINKY" and make a face. You know the one. It gets even louder as you grind it up, too.
The flavor is equally good if not a little more aggressive - and I mean that in the nicest of ways. It's definitely more citrus-forward but those pungent, dank notes are still mighty prevalent. That citrus does provide some sweet relief from the spicy/sweet smoke, so ultimately it felt very rich and full-bodied but not cloying or overbearing in any way.
The effects set in hard and fast, too. I noticed an upbeat cerebral effect first that had me feeling pretty euphoric and zenned out. However, it definitely settles in the body and had me feeling super-glued to the couch. Unmatched for pain and relaxation, offering potent anti-inflammatory relief and has earned a permanent place in my medicine cabinet for headaches. It also made me eat everything in my pantry and then fall asleep, so ya know. If you need help with either of those things, Bobblehead is where it's at.
All in all, Bobblehead looks, tastes, and smells awesome but it also offers a ton of great effects for medical patients and general users. If you haven't had the chance to try some of it for yourself, be sure to stop by any one of our three Colorado Springs medical dispensaries.
