Epic Remedy Strain Profile: Animal Rescue

How are we all doing today, Epic Fam? We're here (a day late maybe, BUT WE'RE HERE) with another Epic Remedy strain profile and review today, covering a strain that you've probably seen on the shelves at our three Colorado Springs medical dispensaries recently: Animal Rescue. The Animal Rescue strain is 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid best known for its potent physical relief and lemony fuel-like aroma. It's a newer strain to hit the weed scene, and we're one of the only dispensaries in Colorado Springs to cultivate it.

In the strain profile and review below, we've outlined everything you need to know about the Animal Rescue strain, including information on its lineage, scent, flavor, aroma, effects, and medical uses. We've also peppered in a secret code within the text that you can use for a 5% discount on your next purchase, so be sure to keep an eye out for it. Remember, secret codes are good for 7 days, so be sure to check back next Tuesday for the next review and code.

In-Depth Details: Animal Rescue Strain Profile

The Animal Rescue strain is a 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid cross between Seed Junky's Animal Cookies and Chem 91 (AKA Chemdawg). This heavy-handed strain checks in around 27% THC, and it feels every bit as potent thanks to the presence of THC-amplifying terpenes like Myrcene, Limonene, and b-Caryophyllene. It should be noted, however, that levels of THC this high can be troublesome for newbies to cannabis medicine. High doses may cause anxiety and paranoia in some patients, though most only experience cottonmouth and dry eyes.

We'll dive deeper into the effects later though. For now, let's talk about Animal Rescue's physical properties. For starters, the strain is beauty. It's easy to recognize in the jar thanks to its bulky yet fluffy flower structure and its incredible coloration, ranging from light to forest green with royal purple hues throughout. Each nug boasts sandy orange pistils and a heavy helping of THC-rich trichomes which give them a sticky, frosty appearance.

The Animal Rescue strain is also more than capable of stinking up a room in the best possible way. As it grows, it takes on a very herbal and lemon-tinged aroma, though as the flowers dry they mellow into a uniquely pungent and earthy funk, similar to fuel in addition to more refined lemon and pine aromas. The flavor is quite similar though the smoke is quite smooth and creamy, leaving behind an earthy sour-citrus flavor and hints of fuel.

As you exhale your first puff of the Animal Rescue strain, the effects take hold. You'll first be met with a bright and happy mental effect known for replacing feelings of stress and depression with a blissful, giggly euphoria. Unlike a sativa high, this strain is notably foggy in the brain. It's not the best choice if you have to get something done, and is best used at night during your chill time while playing a game or watching a movie.

Soon after the mental effects peak, the Animal Rescue strain promotes a powerful body high that spreads through your body by creeping through your limbs until you are totally relaxed. This is where the strain promotes its best medicinal attributes. As the strain takes hold, you'll notice pain melting away along with headaches, muscle spasms, and nausea. Animal Rescue is also great for a good case of the munchies, improving your appetite while helping you relax. In high doses, the strain is excellent for insomnia and other sleep-related conditions.

All in all, the Animal Rescue strain is a rare gem and we're lucky enough to be one of the first dispensaries in Colorado to successfully cultivate it. This strain has unmatched medicinal value and is becoming an incredibly popular choice among patients at The Epic Remedy for nighttime use against a variety of ills and ailments. The potency and medicinal value coupled with the unique skunky mix of gas, pine, and lemons make the Animal Rescue strain a powerful cannabis medicine.

The Epic Remedy's Animal Rescue Strain Review

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with The Wild Thornberrys Australian Wildlife Rescue game on the Nickelodeon website. It was like my favorite thing in the world when I was 7 because you could run your own animal rescue, feed animals, give them medicine, and explore Australia. Needless to say, when I saw this strain on the shelves, the nostalgia for that game hit me super hard. I used to play it with my mom, after all, and it no longer exists.

So I thought I'd try it and write about it for our strain archive. After all, I myself am an animal in need of a little rescue and relief, and what better way to catch that than with an indica-dominant hybrid.

The nugs in the bag were surprisingly large. The Animal Rescue strain throws rounded and dense green flowers with purple hues throughout and plenty of sandy orange pistils. Each one was coated with a thick layer of crystalline trichomes. Tearing the nugs open revealed even more sticky, resinous trichomes, along with an incredibly potent scent similar to lemon pine-sol and gas.

After taking pictures of the flowers, I ground them up and packed them into a bowl. My first impression of the strain was definitely the flavor, which is similar to the scent with an added creaminess in the rich smoke, likely from the Cookies fam background. It made me cough a little, but not to any extreme degree.

The effects take hold pretty instantly, too. The strain checks in at a whopping 27% THC, so it definitely comes on strong and fast. The first notable sensation was the head rush, bringing about an immediate sense of calm along with a generous euphoric bliss. The high is upbeat and happy, and could easily fade way into a fit of giggles. It soothes the mind making room for light, cozy activities like watching a movie or playing a game without slowing you down or fading into sedative sleepiness. Unless of course, you take a bigger hit. If that's the case, the Animal Rescue strain will put you to sleep.

After about 15 minutes, the mental effect subsides a little and you'll experience a creeping physical sensation that left me feeling heavy and relaxed in all of my limbs. The physical effects are quite sticky and couchlocking, but excellent for physical relief from sore muscles. It worked wonders on my headache and my text neck, too. It also made me extremely hungry, which is a very good thing for me since anxiety and stress tends to turn my appetite completely off.

Overall, the strain felt very deep-seated. I felt a perfect mental escape from the day's stresses and was able to get comfortable enough to relax and ready myself for tomorrow. Plus that potency had me feeling a little out of body, which is my ideal experience with indica-dominant strains. It soothes and relaxes with a pleasant mental effect and a comfortable body buzz, allowing you to slip into a healthier headspace while managing your stress, depression, bad mood, pain, nausea, headaches, and lack of appetite. Best of all, a high dose is an excellent way to battle insomnia and other sleep-related conditions.

If you haven't had the chance to try some for yourself yet, you can find it at any of our three Colorado Springs medical dispensaries occasionally. It tends to sell out pretty fast though, so be sure to check out menus first before you stop by. This week's secret code is "MONKEY BRAIN". Thanks for checking out the profile and review!
