In-Depth Details: Alien Cream #2 Strain Profile
Alien Cream #2 is a phenotype of Alien Cream first propagated by Black Bag Seeds after they crossed their Fire Alien Romulan strain with their Strawbanana Cream LTD (which we also grow here). After popping several dozen seeds from this cross, they retained a few versions, with Alien Cream #2 being the most popular. It offers a more balanced mix of effects than the classic strain and promotes creamier flavors. It also checks in at 19-24% THC and brings plenty of b-Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Pinene terpenes that make the strain more medicinally therapeutic to the table.
Alien Cream #2 brings a very unique, almost alien-like appearance to the mix. The plants themselves grow both bushy and tall, producing colas in sativa-dominant fashion. Her water leaves are a muted shade of rich green which contrasts nicely against her vibrant branches. Colas grow on the larfier side and produce medium-dense popcorn flowers that take on a muted green and purple appearance. She also contrasts beautifully with her neon orange pistils, though her coloration is subdued by her thick blanket of THC-rich trichomes.
Alien Cream #2 plants are also quite smelly. They take on unique aspects of both parent's aromas — including a rich and nutty vanilla-like aroma from the Strawbanana Cream LTD parent as well as a very sour and earthy pine aroma from the Fire Alien Romulan side. While growing, the strain is cakier in nature, though as the flowers dry the earth tones tend to overpower the sweetness. The ultimate impression of a dry flower is that of sour lemons, pine, earth, and vanilla.
The flavor of Alien Cream #2 is quite similar to the aroma, though the flavor is more refined. The first impression of the strain is of that rich and creamy smoke that brings forth hints of sweet fruits and vanilla spice. Many tropical notes of lemons, berries, and pineapple make an appearance, though they are overpowered by a robust earthiness and sour lemon. The aftertaste offers a bit of relief, leaving behind a lasting impression of pine and lemon alongside a creamy mouthfeel.
The effects of Alien Cream #2 settle in quickly, starting surprisingly with the body. Alien Cream #2 is notably tingly at first, which isn't unlikely to cause some people anxiety at first. However, this body buzz slowly mellows into something much more comfortable and relaxing. As the body high mellows, you'll find yourself slipping into a very comfortable and upbeat headspace. It starts with a potently euphoric mental lift and ends with a sense of quiet joy, creativity, and positivity. It will absolutely make you hungry, too.
These effects coupled with a medium-range of THC and therapeutic terpenes like b-Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Pinene make Alien Cream #2 an exceptionally medical-marijuana-friendly strain. Since it offers a mix of hybrid effects, you can rely on Alien Cream #2 to make a good impression when you're struggling with depression chronic pain, nausea, lack of appetite, fatigue, insomnia, inflammation, and stress.
Just keep in mind that Alien Cream #2, like most medical cannabis strains, does come with a few side effects like dry eyes and cottonmouth. For those who are sensitive to cerebral strains or tingly body highs, it may also cause anxiety. With that in mind, be sure to start with a low dose with any new strain to see how it will affect you before taking a normal dose. Cannabis is an excellent medicine for managing chronic symptoms, but it isn't a cure-all. It's just a safe, effective alternative for the treatment and management of many chronic symptoms.
All in all though, Alien Cream #2 is a great choice for Colorado Springs medical marijuana patients seeking relief from physical and mental ailments during the day or at night. Its cannabinoid and terpene potencies along with its balanced effects make it one of the most popular choices when it comes to strains among patients who visit our dispensaries here in Colorado Springs.
The Epic Remedy's Alien Cream #2 Strain Review
Frankly, I love the Alien family of strains. I can't say I've ever smoked a strain made with those funky citrusy Alien genetics and said "hmm this is yucky". The same goes for anything crossed with Strawberry Banana.
Needless to say, Strabanana Cream LTD and Fire Alien Romulan sounds like a perfect marriage — and it is. It perfectly encapsulates the unique flavors that make both strains special and they somehow amplify each other. That sweet creaminess isn't cloying thanks to the earth and sour citrus, and those flavors are mellowed out by the sweet cream, making for a delightful smoke.
Visually speaking the strain is impressive, too. You can see exactly how frosty these buds. They look like little quartz nuggets — glittery with hints of subdued color underneath. Alien Cream #2 is a muted shade of purple in some cases, though she tends to be more green under normal circumstances. Her bright orange pistils help to reiterate that these are in fact little nuggets of popcorn weed, and not shimmery gemstones.
The effects are superb, too. Typically when strains are labeled as hybrids you don't experience any type of tingly effect in the body, but Alien Cream #2 provides. It also promotes a euphoric and somewhat energizing cerebral effect. More or less, it offers the best of both worlds.
That said, you're getting pretty powerful effects regardless. If you're uncomfy with a strong body high or energizing cerebral effects, this strain may make you a little anxious at first. However, once the peak hits after about 15 minutes you'll settle into a much more comfortable high that lasts for a few hours.
That said, it helped me a lot with my crappy attitude and took away a lot of the physical pain that helps cause it. It helped me with fatigue when I smoked it in the morning and it helped me with insomnia when I smoked it at night, so ultimately I'd say it's a winner. Especially since it helps with physical pain.
Oh, also. It's gonna make you hungry. If you suffer from a lack of appetite thanks to anxiety or other medical conditions, there's really no better appetite stimulant out there. It's very helpful against nausea, too.
