Breaking the Stigma!
We're Getting Involved
Believe it or not, it's been a bit of a challenge for us to get involved with local charities. Even now, after 10+ years of legalization and medical cannabis, many businesses in the cannabis industry still face a lot of adversity when it comes to getting involved and giving back.
Sure, a big percentage of the tax on cannabis goes back into the community in the forms of funding for roads, schools, and hospitals, but even still, cannabis is a taboo subject. For many, involving cannabis businesses in charity work is a sensitive topic.
For one thing, many non-profit organizations either aren’t allowed to accept donations from marijuana businesses or they simply don’t want to accept them. Many non-profit organizations don’t want to be associated with cannabis companies. There is still a stigma in society related to marijuana, even though almost 90% of the US population supports cannabis legalization.
In other cases, charitable organizations that rely on federal funding can't accept donations from companies involved in an industry that sells a federally illegal product. If such donations are accepted, the non-profit could lose its federal funding and might have to close its doors. This makes it too dangerous for them to accept donations from cannabis companies.
We're not giving up, though.
We're determined to give back to the community that has supported our business to turn around and support some of the less fortunate members of our city's population. We're doing everything we can and working with anyone who will work with us to help make a difference in Colorado Springs.
This year, we've supported a handful of local charities and food banks, but we're always looking for more causes to get involved in. If you have a great cause and you're not afraid of working with a local dispensary chain, please fill out the form below. We're more than eager to get involved with you to help make a difference in our community.
On the other hand, If your non-profit can't accept donations from cannabis businesses, let our owners and managers make personal donations leveraging our patient engagement or allow us to contribute manpower to your charitable projects.
Whatever the case, we want to be involved. Colorado Springs is our home, and these are our people. Please fill out the form below to tell us a little bit about your non-profit and how we can help raise funds, make donations, or assist with your community projects.
People are at the core of everything we do. Our medicine improves the quality of life of thousands of local residents, and we're eager to leverage our successes to contribute on a much larger scale.
